It is that time of year again for residents of Knolls Village to clear out the clutter and free up space in your home. Join us for the highly anticipated Dumpster Days event this Saturday, where you can dispose of unwanted items conveniently and responsibly.
Materials that CANNOT be placed in the dumpsters:
- Paint Products: Please refrain from disposing of any paint products in the dumpsters. Consider donating usable paint to local organizations or contacting your local recycling center for proper disposal methods.
- Automotive Products – Oil and Fuel: Due to environmental concerns, oil and fuel should not be placed in the dumpsters. Many auto parts stores and service stations accept used oil for recycling.
- Chemicals – Garden, Household, and Swimming Pool: Proper disposal of chemicals is essential to protect the environment. Contact your local waste management authority for guidance on disposing of these items safely.
- Electronics – TVs, Radios, Computer Equipment, etc.: Electronics contain valuable components and hazardous materials. Consider recycling them through specialized electronics recycling programs or donating them if they are still in working condition.
- Tires: Tires are not accepted in the dumpsters due to their size and composition. Many tire retailers offer tire disposal services or recycling options.
- Asbestos: Asbestos is a hazardous material that requires professional handling. Please consult with a licensed asbestos removal contractor for safe disposal methods.
- Appliances with Freon: Appliances containing Freon, such as refrigerators and air conditioners, require proper disposal to comply with environmental regulations. Contact your local waste management authority for assistance with disposing of these appliances safely.
To make the most of the available dumpster space, we kindly request that you break down large items such as furniture and cardboard boxes.
In the event that the designated dumpster is full, we have made arrangements for additional dumpsters throughout the community. Look for signs indicating the alternative dumpster locations.
For items listed above that cannot be placed in dumpsters, Waste Management provides home pick up of Household Generated Special Materials.
Waste Management provides a convenient home pick-up service for materials that cannot be placed in the dumpsters. For a nominal fee, Waste Management will come directly to your home and collect household materials that do not belong in a typical trash or recycling bin.
